AGES 3 AND UP
GETTING STARTED:
To start the fun, begin by "waking up" your OOglie by pulling on it's
tail. It will greet you by saying "hello" and making one of its many
wacky sounds.
YOUR OOGLIE WILL NOT ENGAGE IN ANY OTHER FUNCTION UNLESS YOU PULL IT'S TAIL FIRST
(oneswitch note: or press a switch plugged into the TAIL socket). THIS
IS REQUIRED EACH TIME YOU BEGIN PLAY, AFTER YOUR OOGLIE POWERS ITSELF OFF.
Now that you've woken up your OOglie you can play with it in lots of different
ways! Here's how:
TICKLING:
To tickle your OOglie, gently grasp either of its feet and move foot in a side-to-side
motion (hold the OOglie's body while tickling). The more you tickle It, the more
excited your OOglie will become: it'll laugh, and it's eyes will spin and change
colour. When your OOglie's eyes turn red, it's gone into "hyper" mode
and it'll begin laughing and wobbling uncontrollably! Now you need to calm your
OOglie down! Here's how:
CALMING YOUR OOGLIE DOWN:
You can calm your OOglie down at any time while it is laughing. Your OOglie will
begin calming down by giggling, panting & sighing, and then eventually stop
laughing.
When your OOglie is laughing and its eyes are either green or yellow, you can
calm your OOglie down by either:
1. Letting go of its foot (stop tickling it) and patting its head to activate
the button on top of the head.
2. Letting go of its foot (stop tickling it) and waiting for your OOglie to calm
itself down. This usually takes a couple of seconds.
When your OOglie is laughing and its eyes are red (hyper mode), you must calm
the OOglie down by giving it a pat on the head to activate the button. If you
do not calm your OOglie down, he will be in a hyper mode of continual laughter
for 30 seconds, and then will calm itself down.
CONVERSATION / "FORTUNE TELLING" MODE:
Conversation:
Your OOglie has a wacky alien language all its own! To hear your OOglie speak
"OOglish" to you, give the button on top of its head a quick press.
You'll hear one of several wacky OOglie phrases.
"Fortune Telling":
Need some good advice? Why not ask your OOglie??
Ask your OOglie a question. For an answer, press down (and hold) the button on
the top of its head. For as long as you press down, it will "ponder"
your question by thinking out loud and saying "hmm," "well,"
"umm." As soon as you let go, your OOglie will answer your question
by saying something like "Sure," "No Way," "I Don't Know,"
or "Maybe" (answers vary by OOglie).
TAIL SOUND EFFECTS
Your OOglie loves to make silly sounds! By pulling on its tail, you'll hear one
of several sound effects. Each time you pull its tail, it will play another sound
effect. If you hear a sound effect that you really like, you can teach your OOglie
to memorize that sound effect. Your OOglie can even play that sound effect as
a song! Here's how:
1. Pull the OOglie's tail to hear the different sound effects.
2. Once you hear the sound effect you want memorized, press the button on its
head within 3 seconds. Your OOglie will then say "mmm-hmm", signifying
that it has memorized that sound effect. (if you wait longer than 3 seconds to
pat your OOglie's head, it will go into the Conversation / "Fortune Telling"
mode. If this happens, simply start again at Step 1).
3. Once the sound effect Is in memory, each time you pull your OOglie's tail,
it will play a note of a song in the sound it has memorized. Please refer to your
packaging to see what your OOglie "Tail Tune" is.
4. If you no longer want your OOglie to memorize that sound effect, press the
button on its head within 3 seconds of pulling its tail. Your OOglie will then
say "mmm-mmm...no", signifying that it has no longer memorized that
sound effect. (if you wait longer than 3 seconds to pat your Ooglie's head, it
will go into the Conversation / "Fortune Telling" mode. If this happens,
simply repeat Step 4).
5. Your OOglie will also stop memorizing a sound effect once it has powered itself
off (see SHUT DOWN/POWER OFF), or if you tickle it.
SHUT DOWN / POWER OFF:
To minimize battery drain, your OOglie is equipped to shut itself off.
During play, if you do not activate any of your OOglie's functions (Tickling,
Conversation / "Fortune Telling", Tail Sound Effects) for approximately
15 seconds, your OOglie will say "goodbye" to you and flash its eyes
for approximately 60 seconds.
During those 60 seconds (after it says goodbye), you can begin play again on any
function. After your OOglie flashes its eyes for approximately 60 seconds, it
will power itself off. To begin playing with your OOglie again, you will need
to pull its tail (see GETTING STARTED).
If your OOglie begins to act erratically (i.e. eyes don't light up and spin,
or sound doesn't work), please replace the batteries.
